MWA Community Service Projects

The MWA has taken as one of its Community Service projects the production of wig stands for people who must wear wigs because of hair loss due to medical treatment.

Here are some of the other programs from the MWA News Letter.

WIT (Women in Turning) fosters a passion for instruction in woodturning geared towards women. Wig Stands – Providing support to numerous organizations nationwide for cancer patients by donation of beautiful stands Memory boxes – A sister program administered by MN Woodworker’s guild to provide lidded boxes to the families of patients that didn’t survive treatment. Support to the AAW (Including the upcoming 2025 International symposium which promises to provide an opportunity for us to showcase all that MWA does. Many areas for the symposium could benefit from MWA volunteers to make a successful event.)

All of these amazing programs are possible due to the generous giving spirits of our MWA members. If you have an interest in learning about or contributing to any of these areas please contact Charlie Prokop (charlieprokop@gmail.com), Jay Schulz (jfshulz@comcast.net), or Linda Ferber (Lindajaneferber@gmail.com) and they will help connect you with the best contact person for the specific area.)

A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all! Jay Schulz
