AAW SYMPOSIUM INFORMATION
The AAW’s Annual International Symposium is the highlight of the woodturning year. Each symposium features three and a half days of woodturning demonstrations, panel discussions, and special events, led by internationally known woodturners, veteran woodturning instructors, and expert local talent.
Visit the AAW Symposium website for more information.
Registration
Early registration is available until April 25—after that it is full price.
As a member of MWA, you can get an additional discount on your registration. Use the code: AAW25Group when you register.
Demonstrations
There are more than 80 demonstrations and presentations from expert woodturners from around the world. This is a great opportunity for woodturners of all skill levels to learn and be inspired. Topics include bowls, boxes, embellishment, hollow forms, tools/techniques, segmenting, tips for professionals and so much more.

Community Engagement
Beyond attending, volunteering, and soaking up all the inspiration throughout the weekend, consider these other ways to get involved:
- Donate your turned items:
- Empty bowls. Please look over your stash for potential donations of bowls or turn something new. Any size, any shape. All turnings are welcome, plates, platters cups – all are accepted. Donated bowls are sold during the symposium to benefit our chosen charity, Fireweed.
- Wig Stands. There is a great need for wig stands. MWA has been supporting this effort for several years
- Beads of Courage. Supporting Beads of Courage is a long standing tradition for our club.
- Make something special for the Symposium’s Instant Gallery. All attendees are encouraged to inspire others by putting up to three pieces in this international instant gallery!
