What: An Introduction to Segmenting
When: Friday May 24th. 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Where: Jim's Shop in Hastings, MN. (Students will receive instruction on how to get there.)
Skill Rating: Beginner to Advance
Bring: Name tags..safety glasses..$$ for lunch
( we will order Jimmy Johns and dine in the shop)
This class will cover : Designing the form/shape
calculating segment numbers and dimensions
cutting the segments on both a miter box and table saw
ring construction/compound miter construction
glueing and clamping
flattening rings and chucking on the lathe
This class will be limited to 5 members
This is a demo/process explanation class....not a hands on
Members can bring a drawing/shape of a turning they like or want to make
Good News! There will be no algebra or calculus involved!
