Ordering wood by mail isn't my idea of a great time. I like to peruse the old dusty warehouses and log yards for my stuff. Unfortunately, they don't have an exotic lumber yard near me. These are some suppliers that you can use. You will need to call any of these people since trees are highly variable things and their supplies will vary from one call to the next.

I would like to ask to be considered for inclusion on your list of woodturning supply sources. Presently I'm attempting to sell figured wood for turning or carving, but I hope to add a page for tips and plans for jigs and if all works out start a small gallery section.

I got several boards at the 1996 Greensboro symposium and they were excellent. From what I could see, Mitch didn't have any seconds in the piles. Roger.
Steve Wall Lumber, Box 267, Mayodan, North Carolina 27027 (800)633-4062
I have bought a lot of exotic wood for lidded boxes from this company. They are located off US220, north of Greensboro, North Carolina. The best way from I40 is to go to the airport exit west of Greensboro (NC 68?) and go North. This goes right into 220 and you miss all the city traffic and stoplights. Roger.
They have very good prices for dimensional lumber and hardwood plywood also.

We supply hardwoods, bowl blanks & squares to artisans & hobbyists throughout the U.S. I hope you do not think this too presumptive of me, but I would love to be listed in your directory. Wood-Ply has been in business for 39 years & anything that we sell we stand behind. I am enclosing as an attachment our current price list.
We have a toll free number (800) 354-9002 & we UPS anywhere.
